* Day Without Shoes event: Nordstrom at Garden State Plaza is hosting a Toms One Day Without Shoes event from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Take off your shoes to raise awareness for children who are at risk of disease, infection and injury because they do not have proper footwear. * Men’s event at Bloomingdale ’s: On Wednesday, Bloomingdale’s hosts an NY Nights event for men, with music, drinks and sales. From 6 to 8 p.m., save 20 to 30 percent on most men’s fashion. Visit bloomingdales.com.
* InCircle bonus points at Neiman Marcus: Neiman Marcus at Garden State Plaza has an InCircle bonus point event starting Thursday, where customers can earn triple points while shopping in fine apparel, ladies shoes and jewelry. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., senior ready-to-wear director Kareen Mallet will be presenting spring trends on level two. Visit neimanmarcus.com.
* Essay contest prize is a wig: Bergen County resident Flora Shepelsky, founder of Design by Flora, is helping women boost their confidence with her first Flora’s Luscious Locks Essay Contest. Flora has boutiques in Teaneck and Manhattan. Five women (ages 14 and up) will win a custom-styled wig of their choice (retail price $2,500). The contest runs until July 1. Acne Mission Polish men's lace ups > Men's Shoes & Boots
If you're a regular reader of Fashionising.com then you'll be no stranger to the fact that we adore much of what Swedish fashion house Acne Studios produces, particularly their shoes. While that generally sees us concentrate on their women's offering, their Cypress boots the latest to catch our eye, the minimalist contours and traditional overtones of their Mission Polish lace ups are certainly worth remarking on.
Mission is built on a sleek leather sole and a wooden, stacked heel and a round toe. Upper with five lace ups and stitch detailing. The soles are trimmed right to the edge of the upper to give a more casual look.
Mission Polished has been given two layers of colours. The shoes can either be polished for color maintenance or allowed to fade pleasantly.
Internally they feature a light brown leather inner with an embossed golden Acne house logo on sole and tongue.
